Cancellation Policy
Flights cancelled after payment has been made will be refundable in full minus a transaction fee of £4.95, which is charged by the card transaction company. Card payment refunds are charged by the card transaction company and not by Fly Gyrocopter.co.uk.
Cameras and Loose Items
Due to the nature of the flight being an open cockpit, cameras, loose items, or any type of baggage cannot be taken on the aircraft. All such items must be left with family or locked in the office. All zips and pockets must be done up for the flight. Using items in an open cockpit could result in them going through the propeller or rotor system, causing a catastrophic incident. Therefore, we cannot allow loose items such as cameras in the aircraft. There will be an opportunity for the pilot to take a picture of you before you depart the aircraft, and your family can take pictures from the viewing area inside the Hummingbird café.
Clothing
We will provide a flying suit which will keep you warm during your flight, along with a pair of gloves and a helmet with a microphone, so these things you don’t need to worry about. In terms of what you can wear underneath, a light pair of trousers or jeans will be perfect, along with a jumper to keep you extra warm. For footwear, please wear a nice thick pair of socks, and ideally, some warm shoes like hiking boots would be perfect. You might like to wear two pairs of socks if it’s a particularly cold day. With the equipment that we provide, you are unlikely to get cold.
Family Access to the Airfield
Family members are restricted to the Hummingbird café viewing enclosure and are not allowed onto the airfield under any circumstances unless escorted by a member of the airfield staff wearing a yellow high visibility jacket.
Flight Voucher Expiry
Flights purchased will be valid for 12 months only. After 12 months, the voucher will have expired and may become unredeemable.
Passenger Weight Limits
Due to the size of the aircraft, weight limits must be observed for all passengers. Passengers flying in the gyroplane must be below 110 kilogrammes in weight. Any passengers arriving over this weight limit will not be able to fly, unfortunately, and therefore we will have to refund the price of the ticket minus £4.95 for the transaction fee.
Weather Monitoring and Decision Making
Weather conditions will be closely monitored both the night before and the morning of the scheduled flight. Should the weather be deemed unsuitable the evening prior to the flight, a decision will be made to reschedule the flight to ensure the safety and comfort of the passenger and Pilot.
Last Minute Cancellations and Rescheduling
It is important to note that last-minute cancellations and rescheduling of flights can occur on the day of the flight. This decision will be based on the probability of adverse weather conditions either at the time of the decision or at the time of the flight. Such measures are taken to prioritize passenger safety and to provide a comfortable flying experience.
Aircraft Serviceability
The aircraft receives a full top to bottom check every morning prior to the first flight of the day. This procedure takes around one hour and involves a comprehensive examination of all aspects of the aircraft to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Additionally, the aircraft is checked during the day before each flight for any last-minute unserviceability issues. Should the aircraft be deemed unserviceable on the morning of the flight or during the day, FlyGyrocopter will contact the customer as soon as possible to reschedule the flight.
Travel Advisory
Passengers are advised to always have an alternative plan (Plan B) for the day in the event of last-minute changes due to weather conditions or aircraft unserviceability’s. This proactive approach helps to minimize disappointment and ensures that your day can still be enjoyed despite any necessary flight rescheduling.
Refund and Rescheduling Policy
Please be aware that full refunds will not be issued for weather-related or aircraft unserviceability cancellations. Instead, the flight will be rescheduled to another suitable day. This policy ensures that passengers can still enjoy their planned flight experience at a later, safer time.
